The Blago Project
By Kelly Conston 09/29/09 With a political past as entertaining and tragic as we’ve ever seen and with hair that is the envy of Elvis impersonators and hair challenged men everywhere, the former governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, has made his mark on the art world. Recognizing that Blagojevich’s mane is representative of a possible new art movement, “Hair Nouveau”, and that his political behavior warrants some comic relief, a Chicago community art organization, Ravenswood Artwalk (RAW), has borrowed his name for their art exhibit this year. Their huge two-day Fall event, entitled “The Blago Project”, will take place from October 3rd through the 4th at none other than the wiretapped offices of “Friends of Blagojevich”. The purpose of the exhibit this year is to enhance open commentary of the alleged corruption and salacious rumor, accusation and innuendo that has been hiding in the Ravenswood Corridor since Rod Blagojevich’s scandalous political antics a year ago.
